Jabal Ithlib

Al Diwan and Jabal Athlib are among the most prominent archaeological landmarks in AlUla, located within the archaeological site of Al-Hijr (Madain Saleh).

Al Diwan is a hall carved into the rocks that was used as a place for meetings and religious rituals by the Nabataeans, and is characterized by its simple design and calm atmosphere.

Jabal Athlib is a stunning rock formation that includes a natural passage known as “Al-Siq”, similar to the famous passage in Petra, Jordan, and was used as a main passage leading to the Nabataean places of worship.

Al Diwan and Jabal Athlib are part of the Nabataean heritage, and reflect the Nabataeans’ skill in carving rocks and integrating nature with architecture.
