Harrat Al-Harrah Reserve is one of the oldest nature reserves in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, located in the northwest of the country on the border with Jordan, east of Wadi Al-Sirhan. The reserve covers an area of approximately 13,775 square kilometers, and is characterized by its terrain consisting of a volcanic plateau and black basalt rocks, with low volcanic mountains ranging in height from 800 to 1,150 meters above sea level.
The reserve is home to a rich biodiversity, as it includes a variety of wild plants and endangered animals. Current efforts seek to preserve this environmental diversity and protect rare species of plants and animals.
It is worth noting that there is another reserve known as the “Neom Reserve”, located in the Neom region with an area estimated at about 25,000 square kilometers. This reserve aims to provide an ecosystem that preserves nature and environmental components, with a focus on developing wildlife and biodiversity in the region.
